Tessa Sundaram
biography
I am an MD/PhD student simultaneously wrapping up my dissertation and my medical
school requirements. My research interests lie in developing methods to quantify
lung motion with the aim of using motion patterns to detect disease. By using
non-rigid registration, we can make localized estimates of pulmonary kinematics
and do regional comparisons between individuals. Our hypothesis is that these
regional measures will be more effective than global assessments such as
pulmonary function testing in detecting diseased lung. My clinical interests are
in radiology: chest, neuro, MR and interventional. The joys of being a
trainee---I don't have to choose one...yet.
